Job Description: As a Design Engineer II at ConveyX Corp, you will play a crucial role in the development and design of new products and systems. You will use CAD and MS Office software to create manufacturing drawings, models for concept development, customer approval drawings, instructional documentation, and product testing and inspection documentation. Additionally, you will use business management software to create bills of materials, review internal notifications, gather quote and job-related information, and manage inventory data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create manufacturing drawings and models for concept development per customer requirements.
- Develop customer approval drawings and instructional documentation.
- Produce product testing and inspection documentation.
- Use business management software to create bills of materials and manage inventory data.
- Manage time effectively and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Work with team leaders to assign appropriate priorities.
- Design, engineer, and prototype new products and systems to solve customer needs.
- Participate in the development of production methods and fixtures.
- Work within a budget to deliver safe and efficient products on time.
- Attend meetings and provide input and updates.
- Review, produce, and maintain design documentation.
- Implement customer specifications in product designs.
- Maintain and store design files and revision data.
- Provide explanations of design changes as needed.
- Communicate effectively between project teams, customer teams, and vendors.
- Work closely with Project Managers to develop task lists and anticipate tasks required to complete projects.
- Identify concerns and mitigation plans for potential delays.
- Participate in quality control inspections and system testing.
Requirements:
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel.
- Strong engineering ethics and fundamentals (math, physics, engineering).
- Experience with Design for Manufacture practices.
- Understanding of basic budgeting and marketing impacts on project success.
- Proactive, self-motivated, organized, creative, and possess superior communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new and constantly changing environments.
- Team player comfortable working on multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
- Passion for solving complex challenges with innovative solutions.
- Willingness to participate in customer service calls as needed, including outside of normal working hours.
- Willingness to travel on occasion.
