Responsibilities of this position include:

• Manage the design and implementation of material handling equipment for a wide range of customers and specifications
• Use CAD and MS Office software to create
  • Facility \ Equipment Plan view drawings
  • Models for concept development per customer requirements
  • Customer approval drawings
  • Instructional documentation
  • Product Testing and Inspection documentation
• Use business management software to
  • Create Bill of Materials for work distribution to manufacturing and purchasing
  • Create\review Internal notifications
  • Gather quote and job-related information
  • Search, review, and edit inventory data as needed
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and providing high quality work
• Design, engineer, and prototype new concepts to solve customer needs
• Work closely with equipment and controls engineering teams to
  • Ensure customer specifications are being followed
  • Provide detailed requirements for system design
  • Maintain consistency between vendors
  • Ensure the equipment will assemble and function as complete system
• Work within a budget to deliver safe and efficient products on time
• Attend firm engineering meetings and lead discussions related to system design, equipment functionality, and operational processes
  • Present CAD applications through online meeting software
  • Manipulate CAD files while presenting, discussing, and brainstorming
• Review, produce, and maintain design documentation
  • Review and implement customer specifications in product designs
  • Maintain and store design files and revision data
  • Provide explanation of design changes as needed
• Effectively communicate between project teams, customer teams, and vendors
• Work closely with Project Managers to develop task lists
  • Anticipate tasks required to complete a project, their durations and identify any critical task order
  • Identify concerns and mitigation plans for potential delays
• Participate in quality control inspections, and system testing
• Continue to grow knowledge of a wide variety of technologies

Requirements

• Five or more years of relevant experience
• Willing to travel on occasion
• Experience with CAD Tools including Solidworks and AutoCAD
• Experience with Microsoft Office Tools, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel
• Possess strong engineering ethics
• Possess strong engineering fundamentals (math, physics, engineering)
• Experience with design for manufacture practices
• Understand basic budgeting and marketing impacts on project success
• Must be proactive, self-motivated, organized, creative, and possess superior communication and problem-solving skills
• Broad interdisciplinary engineering experience designing/developing new products
• Able to quickly get up to speed in new and constantly changing environment
• Must be a team player and comfortable working on multiple teams and projects simultaneously
• Must have a passion for solving complex challenges with innovative solutions
• Able to lead a team to complete a task
• Willing to participate in customer service calls as needed, including outside of normal working hours
• Detail-oriented with a holistic approach that takes into consideration all facets of developing new products
